On Wednesday, October 28, 2009 more than 40 Fashion Design & Merchandising graduates showcased their final collections on the runway at The Art Institute of Vancouvers Global Gallery fashion show, held at The Red Robinson Show Theatre in Vancouver. For the first time in the school's history, two shows were held in order to accommodate audience demand.

The Art Institute of Vancouver annual fashion show is well-attended by industry professionals who are looking for future fashion talent. Anne Morris, Academic Director for Fashion, said, "Every year, our fashion students raise the bar and they have created the most inspired, accomplished, and diverse collections for our latest show. Many of the designers featured are already receiving recognition from the industry and are well on their way to successful fashion careers. We couldn’t be more proud of our graduates."

The Creative Director and Producer of Global Gallery, Vladimir Markovich, is a fashion and production professional, whose career has spanned television, commercials, music videos and numerous fashion shows, including The Art Institute of Vancouver's past three shows. Global Gallery is a celebration of the diversity we see in our fashion designers' collections at The Art Institute of Vancouver. Watched by the world, Vancouver is a city constantly shaped and developed by the global influences of its people. Our students bring with them a richness of expression that comes from their diverse backgrounds and cultural influences. Their creativity crosses boundaries, challenges conceptions and brings inspired minds together.

    From collaboration comes infinite possibilities.
